Mitigation of climate change and adaptation to water deficit in agriculture through the use of biostimulants and regulators of plant transpiration (BIOTRANS)
The main objective of BIOTRANS is to provide a sustainable technology that, through the use of molecules that respect the environment, enables cultivation in water deficit conditions. BIOTRANS aims to develop new molecules in the field of biostimulants and specific abscisic acid (ABA)-receptor agonists for crop protection, adaptation to climate change, and sustainable use of water resources. Moreover, we aim to develop a synergistic combination of biostimulants and ABA receptor agonists to face abiotic stress. Biostimulants and regulators of plant transpiration can improve tolerance to water deficit by improving osmotic adjustment and antioxidant response, as well as by modulating plant transpiration and soil water consumption through ABA signaling.
